ABOUT ELLA DINING ROOM AND BAR
Ella Dining Room and Bar, a world-class restaurant by the same family who introduced The Kitchen Restaurant and Selland's Market-Café to Sacramento, seeks to add to its Service Team. These positions represent a unique opportunity to join an established company in the exciting and growing food and wine market of Downtown Sacramento. Ella Dining Room and Bar’s "Farm to Fork" focused menu not only sources fresh, locally grown produce and meat but also offers delicious cocktails, beer and an award winning wine list featuring hard to find and local producers.
The ideal candidates will have excellent social skills, be highly motivated and feel comfortable working in a demanding position that requires multi-tasking while providing the highest levels of service. The ideal candidate will ensure that each guest receives outstanding service by providing unparalleled hospitality. This includes but is not limited to, greeting and welcoming every customer in a positive manner, menu and product knowledge, and all other components of the restaurant’s service standards in order to take care of the guest’s needs.The ideal candidate for this job also must be very reliable, creative, highly organized, and have a passion for service and hospitality. Hosts are responsible for maintaining customer service according to Restaurant standards while taking orders, delivering food, bussing tables, merchandising food, cleaning, cashiering and receiving and stocking product. This candidate has the knowledge of and maintains sanitary food handling practices. Back Servers interact with guests in a positive manner by assisting them promptly, and approaching them in a hospitable, friendly way.
In addition the candidate will be responsible for the following:

Maintaining the highest level of service and hospitality according to Restaurant standards

Ability to use, update, and maintain the OpenTable floorplan throughout the shift

Ability to greet and welcome all guests upon arrival

Ability to graciously manage guest’s requests and expectations in a high-pressure environment

Ability to make a connection with the guest while seating
-
Ability to effectively communicate with management team as they direct the flow of the Dining Room

Creating, updating, and confirming reservations

Answering the telephone, managing call forwarding and voicemail boxes

Ability to thank all guests for joining us upon departure

Ability to maintain flower arrangements and keep a clean and organized Host Stand

Maintains an awareness of food and product information, promotions, special offers and advertisements

Knowledge of and maintaining sanitary food handling practices and restaurant cleanliness before, during, and after shift

Communicates guest requests to co-workers and/or management in a prompt, efficient manner

Ascertain guest satisfaction throughout service

Cooperates and interacts with colleagues in a positive, respectful manner and with a team approach, offering to assist as needed in order to ensure customer service

Abide by all state, federal regulations and restaurant liquor policies pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages

Reports to work on time and as assigned per the schedule on a regular, consistent basis
